Hey Deborah,
I was *just* about to write you, so how nice to see a post from you
here! I have visited all the L.A. area MUG websites at least twice
in the past year, and SGV's as recently as March, but for some reason I
popped over this past Sunday, and -- Wow! Nice! It looks great!
(For a thumbnail of what it kind of looked like in March, check out:

or of each L.A. area MUG,

Likewise, when FootTrack.com contacted us about their software for
iMovie users, the first person I thought of was Louise Dawson of
Leisure World MUG, and in my response to them included her info. In
*my* book, she is the iMovie Queen. <hehehe>

That is totally us. In the past year, we've had local Mac
consultants (christianboyce.com, mactherapist.com, tech-pal.com), local
camera shop (samys.com), local reps from procreate and Sorenson, and a
great local author/columnist/speaker (shadovitz.com). =)

Great point. As much as our meetings are about our groups, they're
also about our presenters, so they're very much two-way streets.
Because you were so wonderful to us in January, we were happy to rtn
the favor in March when our little group of 20-25/mtng bought 15 tkts
for your MacGathering.

I think every volunteer group should be happy for its officers who
volunteer to lead it, but I think groups who are able to have a Mac
celebrity help them out should be especially happy (e.g. Tom Negrino &
NCMUG, Terry White & MacGroup Detroit, Garr Reynolds & Kinki MUG, etc.)

Hey Trish, I didn't know you stuttered...! ("to to") Me t-too...!
<hehehe> You know I love you, but I did *not* understand your question
-- we're Mac user groups, so wouldn't *all* of our meetings be
Mac-focused(?) -- so I'm glad to read how others have answered your
question...
I've already listed some and linked to all of our presenters for this
past year, but as to how we got them, some volunteered and others we
asked... What's helpful to us is giving our presenters lots of lead
time, rather than asking them at the last minute...

I totally agree and think everyone who posts to this list should have
a signature block w/ their group's name, affiliation and URL, even if
they're speaking for themselves and not the group (e.g., Zo-n-zo, ZMUG
member, www.zmug.org)...
Sincerely,
