Lorene, and list, let me share some equally beneficial words about vendors.
BeiMac (Beijing Macintosh User Group) was on the wrong side of the Pacific
(being in China). Yet we got a great deal of goodies from O'Reilly from the
US.
I wrote to Marsee Henon that BeiMac was having its 1 year anniversary in
January and we got a massive box and a smaller package from Marsee in about
a month's time. We got so many goodies that we ended up giving every
attendant a freebie from O'Reilly, plus some other Apple freebies. It pretty
much superseded the prize draw.
O'Reilly keeps sending us goodies - all the way from the US. It really means
a lot when a vendor cares so much about its international groups.
I believe the O'Reilly programme is fabulous and pretty much, I urge those
who haven't joined their programme to join today, and pretty much the same
goes for every great MUG-vendor programme. It's a fantastic experience.
Lorene's immortal words that MUG cooperation with vendors being a win-win
situation is the utmost truth.
