Hi Elsa,
Last year was our first round of having a special holiday meeting. This
year, we've added a little more fun & streamlined the evening.
The main ingredients are:
Food - simple & finger food
Special Guest speaker(s) w/ a hot topic
Fun twist on a raffle.
At the high school, we can't have food in the classrooms, so we move to
the cafeteria & serve hot cider/tea & have home made goodies. This year
we've got a local professional giving us a scanning/photo restoration
presentation, and we'll have Santa's Raffle where tickets aren't
bought, but everyone gets one when they come in (there's a donation
basket to make up for tickets not being sold). All the raffle items are
wrapped, and we're hoping to have enough to go around so everyone gets
something.
The donations that we get at the meeting will go to a non-profit
community group that we work with (Head Start Program) in our Project
Restart program.
Cheers!

Does your group do something special for the holidays? Any ideas you
can
share with the last-minute procrastinators among us?
