BREEN'S BUNGALOW NOW AVAILABLE TO MACINTOSH USER GROUPS
Macworld Magazine and contributing editor Chris Breen have extended their
support of Macintosh User Groups once again. As announced by Chris at
Macworld Creative Pro Conference & Expo in July, they are making special
editions of "Breen's Bungalow" available exclusively to Apple-recognized
user groups.
"Breen's Bungalow," a QuickTime video tutorial, appears each month on the
CD bundled with newsstand copies of Macworld magazine. Now, special
versions of "Breen's Bungalow" are being made available to Macintosh User
Groups to distribute to their members on CD or via hard drive copy, and/
or present at their meetings. Even better, these special editions will
not only include new content produced exclusively for user groups, but
will also be of higher quality than has ever been published. Complete
details on this resource, and how to request the password to download
your copy, are available here on The MUG Center.
Chris Breen is also the author of Peachpit Press' Secrets of the iPod
(3ed edition) and Mac 911. Portions of his "Mac 911" column are available
for publication in MUG newsletters exclusively through The MUG Center's
Newsletter Content E-mail List.

APPLE USER GROUP LOCATOR UPDATED WITH ZIP CODE SEARCHES
The User Group Locator on Apple's web site has been updated with new
search capabilities. Visitors can now do a Zip Code search, with a radius
of 100 miles for groups in the United States. This change simplifies
searches in both heavily and sparsely populated areas, and addresses
challenges for those in areas of two or more state borders.
The Locator continues to offer full-state searches, as well as a country
search, and a dedicated section for online-only groups.
The Apple User Group Locator is the single best resource to find Apple-
recognized, active user groups that offer a wide variety of resources to
their members.

NORTH COAST MUG'S ANNUAL MAC COMPUTER EXPO GETS BIGGER AND BETTER
This year's Mac Computer Expo (MCE) , the regional event hosted by the
North Coast Mac Users Group, will be held on September 20 at the Santa
Rosa Junior College ,and will feature more speakers, more sessions, and
raffles for an iBook and an iPod.
The theme of the event is "Your Life on the Go." This timely topic will
be the basis for presentations by Derrick Story, Michael Sauer, Tom
Negrino, Dori Smith, Bert Monroy, Alex Lindsay and a keynote address by
author Jim Heid.
There will also be a host of local and national vendors featuring
Macintosh-related products and services. To include the next generation
of Mac users, the Sonoma County High Schools will participate with the
first annual "Ditigal Showcase," with students showing off their digital
movie-making talents.
Over 5,000 people showed up for last year's MCE, so get all the details
at the NCMUG web site and plan to arrive early.
