There's another article there and Apple does say they are working on a
fix. This isn't a problem at all right now. I had a copy of the virus
and took a look at it. It works like this, it's just a carbon app with
an MP3 icon and a .mp3 extension. iTunes sees it as a song but it's
really a program that can execute code and do whatever it's made to do.
The catch is that it always has to be in a .sit or .dmg before it's
opened and I heard it has to be on the desktop to work. It has to be
directly sent to you by someone too. Right now it is only proof of
concept but it may turn into something more someday, but by then Apple
will already have a update to patch this up.

So what's the truth? No Trojan horses are good, but how bad is this?
It exposes a potential problem which has existed almost since the
beginning of the Mac - certainly on anything post system 7.
It's nothing to panic about. Don't go and throw money at anti-virus
vendors (especially small, attention-seeking, hysteria-provoking
anti-virus companies like Intego) because of an irrational fear. Let's
see what Apple has to say about it. Rumblings from the jungle say they
are going to issue a fix.
