Hi,
With all the wireless gizmos available today, I was wondering if any of
the MUGs have used wireless microphones (either clip, or ear-piece) for
your meetings in "total harmony" with your Macs.
I've been looking for a quick and easy (and cheap !) way to manage the
audio side of our monthly meetings which are currently very basic : a 5
speaker system (a sub-woofer and it's 4 smaller "satellite" speakers)
is plugged directly in the audio output of our Mac so that members can
hear the sounds coming out of the Mac but there is no microphone
plugged anywhere right now. We would probably need a mixer or some
kind of interface between the Mac and the audio-system if we wanted to
add microphones.
Have any of you tried to connect straight to a Mac (thru any kind or
wireless technology : Bluetooth/Airport, a USB receiver, etc) so to
avoid having to deal with too much equipment ? If the wireless
microphones were connected straight to the Mac, we could maybe control
every input thru the Mac. That way, one would just need to connect the
audio output of the Mac to the audio system with just one wire. We
dont want to buy heavy wireless microphones (you know, the ice cream
cone looking model with a colored tip...) with a receiving base plugged
into our audio system if we can have a simple clip-on or ear-piece like
microphone using some kind of wi-fi. Such a system would enable the
persons giving a presentation to just walk around handsfree. My guess
then is that we would need some kind of audio software to get this to
work properly. Do you have any comment/suggestion on that crazy idea ?
