Hi folks. I work at a East Carolina University (3rd largest in NC) that
sorely needs a permanent full-time Macintosh workstation support specialist.
We need someone who is highly skilled with Mac OS X as well as Classic, and
knows how to get Macs to work in a Windows environment. Don't let the server
experience throw you. It's something we'd like, but we need a Mac guru first

description:
East Carolina University has a "Workstation Support" position available,
which will be responsible for desktop service and support including
microcomputer/peripherals troubleshooting, hardware/software configuration,
desktop automation via scripting, new technology research, and training and
administration of OS X Server(s). The selected candidate will be expected to
have considerable knowledge of business class microcomputer systems as well
as knowledge of networking and connectivity applications interconnecting
existing campus legacy and client server systems. Candidates should have an
outstanding working knowledge of various software applications that run on
the Macintosh OS platform (MS Office X Suite, web browsers, email clients)
with high-level skills involving microcomputer operating systems. Work
experience should include network communication configuration (TCP/IP and
AppleTalk), workstation hardware/software troubleshooting, and general
application support. Extensive experience with Microsoft applications is
necessary. Experience with audio and video devices will be considered a
plus. Primarily, the concentration will be on Macintosh OS 9/X operating
systems and software applications, but troubleshooting skills for Windows
2000 and Windows XP will also be necessary. The ideal candidate will have
experience with AppleScript, OS X Server and UNIX commands. In addition, the
ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management and
Macintosh experience with a strong emphasis on workstation installation and
configuration. Candidates should be highly skilled in problem solving/task
prioritization, active listening, and verbal/written communications. (08532)

Graduation from a four-year college or university and two and one-half
years of experience in desktop/server applications; or graduation from a
two-year college or technical school with a degree in computer science and
two and one-half years experience in desktop/server applications; or an
equivalent combination of training and experience.
