I am the new Ambassador for our group, FLMUG Lakeland, and I check
about once a week. I wanted to see about the .Mac account free for
MUGs. I took the .Mac Overview course, but never did come across
anything about a free account for MUGs. Question for you, Chuck, can
Ambassadors order any of the logo merchandise off the ASW site? Oh,
and a second one, do you know if Apple will grant license for a MUG
shirt with Apple logo, limited run, not for profit, sale to MUG members
only?? Does Apple really have any give-away items available to MUGs
anymore.
Apple sent us some t-shirts and some note pads which were gratefully
received, although we did have to pay #50 for the import duty!! The
t-shirts we use as comp giveaways and they go down well, the notepads I
give out to people who help clear up after the evenings events as a
thank you.
to answer Chucks question, we'd use ASW a LOT more if there was useful
User Group stuff on here for International groups. The UK sales web is
very much a cut down version, no merchandise or logo info, just sales
leaflets, POS stands and the occasional press release.
The Keynote Presentations are a great source, but you have to accept
the fact that you will be giving a sales brief for a particular Apple
product. I just love Keynote. I did take advantage of the free
($3.50) Panther offer and the November Mailbox.
We found the keynote files to be very dry and often its quicker to make
your own up using them as a base. Our presenters have also all come
with powerpoints so far , he he!
