This book, from the Apple Pro Training Series, is the official Apple
Pro training course for DVD Studio Pro 2. In the back of the book is a
DVD-ROM containing all of the lesson files for this text book. It can
be used to teach a class, with logical, step-by-step lessons.
Of course, it starts with an explanation of the DVD process and
specifications.
The lessons have you create a series of four projects to create DVDs,
each one more complex than the previous one. Each lesson in the project
introduces new features of DVD Studio Pro. The first lesson allows you
to build a simple DVD of a tiger documentary with a movie, slide show
and two menus.
Even experienced DVD Studio Pro users can use this lesson to
familiarize themselves with new features in version 2. By the time you
finish the fourth project, you will have built a professional quality
DVD with subtitles, motion menus, 5.1 Dolby surround sound, multiple
video angles, alternate language audio streams, and audio commentary.
The book also covers the instructions for using other related
applications, such as Compressor (used to encode files for DVD Studio
Pros use) and A.pack (used to prepare audio).
If you want to author professional quality DVDs, this book can help.
Its available for $40.49 at Peachpits web site, and you can get an
additional 20% off as a user group member (check with your officers for
details).
