What was the inspiration which led Stephen Wobs to found the group?
A very good question and one that I'm glad you have posed.
According to the group's records, Mr. Wobs was a visionary, although
that opinion seems to have not been universally shared. Some believed
Wobs when he said he heard voices. Others pointed to his countless
hours of heavy drinking (although he claimed it to be primarily for
medicinal purposes) and debauchery as the source of the aforementioned
visions.
Legend has it that one night while standing on a small mound or a
neighbor's wife (records aren't clear on this point) Mr. Wobs is
reported to have repeatedly screamed to the heavens, "... but why
Bondi!?!" At this point public opinion began to divide.
Was Mr. Wobs a man who had entered into a realm that heretofore had not
been tapped or was he supremely and properly toasted?
This much is known for sure; Mr. Wobs never missed a meeting. As you
can imagine, being the only member, he was left to his own device. But
he did find ways to productively use the time. Supposedly after many
failed and aborted attempts, Wobs successfully connected a mouse with a
Cat 5 cable via its rectum. Many of Wobs proponents point to this as
proof that he was both a visionary AND a drunkard.
Towards the end of his life, Wobs' field of interests broadened. There
is some evidence that he may have coined the term "Wankel" and that he
conceived the basic components for what was to become centuries later
the curling iron.
Mr. Wobs inevitably passed away and was buried in a pauper's grave,
primarily as the firm of Gates and Potter had purchased all the top
line grave sites in the territory.
Sincerely,
