Michele,
If my understanding is correct, your cookie is not the same as Spyware.
Your cookie requests your input, but doesn't "Update your records" all
by itself. On a PC, it wouldn't ask your input, it would just find the
information it wanted and download it. That is Spyware, and Mac OSX
won't do that without an administrator password.

Not according to Ebay! I have a problem with a continuous loop asking
me to update my email addresses with them, I go to my Ebay cookies and
delete secure_ticket and that pop up screen goes away. According to
Ebay that is Spyware, how can this be, I AM on a Mac after all? What
is this problem??? Thanks!

It's true. It's not just that we have it good as Mac users. Most
Windows users don't realize how bad *they* have it.
For now at least, there are *no* viruses (as in "zero") that infect
OS X.
(At least not any verifiable ones in the wild.) There is also no
spyware
that can be installed on a Macintosh remotely via the Web or via
e-mail.
However, there are over 100,000 Windows viruses!!!

Over 91% of computers running Windows are infected with Spyware!!!
