Well, it was confirmed for me. 2000 points. Just not worth it for
me. .Mac just went from something I recommend to something I now
don't use and can't recommend.
Oh well.

Allan, I saw a few responses but not a direct answer to this. The
Apple
Sales Training Online Program (ASTO) is independent of the user group
program. The user group program at Apple was able to get us access
to this
tool as well as the Apple Sales Web. They felt having access to
these tools
would benefit our groups. ASTO changed the .Mac rules across the
board.
Meaning user groups were not singled out. Consultants, resellers, user
groups, and anyone else with access to ASTO must earn at least 2000
points
and pass the .Mac quiz. This means the advisory board cannot
suggest Apple
change this. I have found the courses beneficial when presenting
topics at
my meetings. The hardware and software courses seem to be most useful.

2000 points? that's what, perfect scores for 4 classes on line.
realistically 5 classes? Seems awfully steep.
Could the user group advisory board look into this and see if Apple
can
reduce the requirements to just taking the dot-mac quiz?
Thank you,
Allan Marcus
