Hi Jo
We do have the answer for any MUG Ambassador regarding the Apple User Group Advisory Board. We Regional Liaisons do have answers to these questions.
Technical matters, like yours, are another matter. That said, thank you for your confidence in me.
One venue open to User Group Ambassadors is the bulletin board that all Ambassadors are encouraged to join. I see you have.
With your permission. I am posting your question there. You should hear back from some new folks so watch your email. AUGD email isn't SPAM.
Also, your question would be perfect for our SEMUGs Yahoo Group. I recommend that you post it there, too. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SEMUGs/

hi,
just got the aug bulletin for august and the information that regional
liaisons have answers to questions - any and all. such a coincidence,
because i just read an email from a cmug member that is having problems
with fonts in any os x, including tiger. This graphic business person
tried fontagentpro and extensis suitcase xi but is still getting corrupt
fonts. the directory (graphics-desktop publishing job, not computer
system terminology) in question uses 300 fonts - the graphics person nor
the customer are willing to replace all the fonts. the fonts worked in
os 9+. The following is a quote from her lifted from her email.
"The Very sad thing is that if you search MAC OS X & font issues online,
it seems that it is a MAJOR problem for the graphic/publishing industry.
Some people I worked with in Atlanta & also some I know from S. Carolina
have had to go back to MAC OS 9 just to be able to get their work out!
This is outrageous! what are we going to do? Mac's are MAINLY used by
the graphic industry, how could they do this to us?"
her husband is trying to get her back to pc.
information to solve the font issue is more than greatly appreciated.
