All great stuff Trish, many thanks.
This paragraph
"You may not use the Apple Logo or any other Apple-owned graphic
symbol,
logo, or icon on or in connection with web sites, products, packaging,
manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or for any other
purpose except
pursuant to an express written trademark license from Apple, such as a
reseller agreement."
Now at some point we as a group will have filled in a form giving us
a license to use the Apple User Group logo. This form will have some
guidance attached telling us where and when we can use the logo i.e.
on our user group websites etc.
Does anyone have a copy of that particular agreement?
Cheers
B.

Thanks, Paul. Your answer is right on target. There is indeed an
"Apple User
Group" logo at Apple Sales Web for our use. The guidelines are
there as
well.
I think we should all check out this page from time to time,
especially when
questions like this come up:
http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark/guidelinesfor3rdparties.html
Here are a couple of excerpts.
"Only Apple and its authorized resellers and licensees may use the
Apple
Logo in advertising, promotional, and sales materials."
"You may not use the Apple Logo or any other Apple-owned graphic
symbol,
logo, or icon on or in connection with web sites, products, packaging,
manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or for any other
purpose except
pursuant to an express written trademark license from Apple, such as a
reseller agreement."
This one is often overlooked:
"1. Trademarks are adjectives used to modify nouns; the noun is the
generic
name of a product or service.
2. As adjectives, trademarks may not be used in the plural or
possessive
form."
Mouse on over and take a look at all the guidelines. It is good
information
to know when you're contemplating using copyrighted trademarks or
logos.
From the same URL above:
"Apple's trademarks, service marks, trade names, and trade dress are
valuable assets. In following these guidelines, you help us protect
our
valuable trademark rights and strengthen our corporate and brand
identities."
Let's do it!

Since I have the approved Apple User Group signature files, I can
assure you they exist. I suspect the person you asked did not
understand the question. The file is downloadable from the ASW
website using the part number I listed in my previous message.

Interestingly enough, when I inquired about Apple User Group

The other question I have is in regards to items for the user
group. Is there some place to purchase promotional items for the
group to use? I am also looking for the Apple User Group image to
use.
Unfortunately, we do not have any promotional items at all. Also,
there is no image for Apple User Groups.
I'm going to check the link you included in your email and see if I
can find out who's right.
