Hi Everyone –
I would request consideration of one thing should anyone be considering making [any of] their Keynote presentations available publicly: If you are not using a "stock" theme – IOW one that came with the original Apple application – publishing a presentation would include that theme used in said presentation and could be costing the company/individual that created it a potential sale and/or violate the terms of their user agreement with regard to the conditions of its use.
In some cases, the author/creator of the theme set might be willing to allow this in some way(s), but it might be better to simply ask first to avoid any potential copyright or trademark violation in some way. In fact, it is probably worth looking at Apple's own terms with regard to transmitting the themes, themselves vs. the content of the presentations. Clearly, Apple does this internally and via ASW, of course.
I wouldn't want to see anyone get into any trouble doing something that has such good intentions. I really like the idea of sharing all kinds of presentations, materials, multimedia, etc., for the benefit of the user group community. I also feel that it is important to respect the rights of those who create them - be they MUGs, their leadership, vendors, designers, musicians, whomever...
:)
Happy Holidays!
Dan
