Folks in Malaysia are being directed to return to the reseller to exchange their affected batteries. The only time Apple sent a return envelop for Malaysian Mac owners was during the PowerBook G3 power adapter exchange. It boils down to shipping costs. The Apple office in Australia, Malaysia and elsewhere must have made the calculations and decided against paying for the return shipping and handling.

As for being treated as 2nd class citizens, now you know what it's like to be like the "rest of us". I'd say treat everyone the same, regardless of which continent or nation you belong to.
