And, my best wishes and season's greetings for you, as well David and
all who look upon your/these words on this list.
Listen to the cut from Sara Thomsen's CD titled "May the Long Time Sun"

May The Long Time Sun
May the long time sun
Shine upon you
All Love surround you
And the pure Light within you
Guide your way home
I will always remember the opportunity to meet you in person in
Beijing, even if our time was short, when I traveled to China.
:-)
I remember your words about the joy that you have in getting in your
car and taking exploratory trips into the countryside now that you
are back home from Switzerland.
May we both, and indeed all on this list, experience a sense of
beauty and gratitude for the life that we have, which is further
emphasized at this meaningful time of year.
Till we meet again.
All places are our home.
With Care,
Emilie

Merry Christmas to one and all!

Christmas is not on any mainland Chinese calendar. Yet swim to the
other side of the Straits, and -- get this -- you do indeed get a
holiday on December 25 -- Constitution Day. That's right -- back in
the late 1940s, the ROC constitution (intended for all of China,
but now valid only on Taiwan) was promulgated on December 25th, of
all dates.
Christmas is not on any mainland Chinese calendar. Yet the police
has warned four-wheeled polluting citizens of the capital of 1.3
billion to expect jams on Wangfujing Avenue (your equivalent of 5th
Avenue, Bahnhofstrasse (I think we have a Swiss group here), or
(__fill in the blank here__).
Christmas is not on any mainland Chinese calendar. Yet you get
people firing off cute SMS text messages at speeds exceeding 248 km/
h. The mobile airwaves are rife with cute and cuter SMS messages
flashing to and fro. Most of these are kind of generic, and to make
our BeiMac union executives and core members feel special, I have
to come up with customized messages.
Christmas is not on any mainland Chinese calendar. Yet just before
the night when Santa's taking to the skies, we've a stream of Mac
and iPod shops opening not just Beijing, but around the People's
Republic. Santa may want to snap a shot of the newly-opened
Guangzhou store. Whoops, I guess he forgot to bring his digital
camera...
Christmas is not on any mainland Chinese calendar. Yet we still get
people wishing each other a merry Christmas, and my best wishes and
season's greetings go for everyone on this list.
