I'm looking for a Laptop and need some advice.
Hi!
a) Based on your description of needs and intended work, I am
wondering if you wouldn't be just as well off with an iBook as
opposed to a current PowerBook, assuming that you conclude that the
MacBook Pro is not appropriate yet;
b) Also, you might want to review the capabilities of the Northstarâ„¢
service which essentially allows you to run common WIndows
applications through a web browser from ANY platform that can access
the Internet from a web browser, including Windows PC's! More info
about this service can be found at:

I am not promoting Northstarâ„¢, just mentioning it as a potentially
interesting alternative that came to my attention at Macworld SF. I
am currently looking into whether their service might warrant doing a
review or demo for our Mac User Group. Good luck!
