The MUG Event calendar is busy this week with two appearances by Apple,
one by a popular author and Photoshop expert, a game publisher and much
more. Apple's Dreux Ste. Marie will present in Texas and Dave Amidon
from Apple will be the featured speaker in Rhode Island. Graphics guru
Scott Kelby will show off his talents in Florida and game publisher
Aspyr will demonstrate their latest and greatest in Texas. Girish Joshi
of Quark will present in Illinois and The Omni Group will visit a group
in Washington. (more)
2 - Apple, Tropical Software Top the Most Frequent MUG Presenters Tally
Through November
<http://www.mugcenter.com/news/2006/112006/1103presenters.html>
Each and every month Mac User Groups around the world deliver
presentations on topics of interest to Mac users of all levels, but
visits from software and hardware vendors and Mac celebrities are always
extra special. Through the end of October, we have compiled our annual
unofficial list of the most frequent guests at Mac User Groups, and
there a few surprises. Leading the pack with a total of thirty-eight
separate apparances is, of course, Apple. Assuring Apple's dominance is
Senior Systems Engineer Dave Marra, with fifteen user group
presentations so far this year. Coming in second is James Lee of
Tropical Software. Jim's position, with 19 user group appearances, is
particularly impressive given that he is a solo presenter for his
company, and also came in second for the 2005 rankings. (more)
3 - Portland Macintosh Users Group Shares a MacCamp Fall 2006 Roundup
<http://www.mugcenter.com/news/2006/102006/1031maccamp.html>
Earlier this month the Portland Macintosh Users Group (PMUG) held the
fall version of their semi-annual MacCamp event. One of the event
organizer, Charles Devore, provided us with summary article.
<br><br>"Another MacCamp, number 43 to be exact, has come and gone. Our
only regret is that it passed too quickly." (more)
