I don't know that it would be silly to them.
In the past we have done roll call type mailings.
Let me tell you a little about myself.
I have been involved with Apple user groups since 1982 and have been
a member of 20+ groups over the years from Honolulu to Boston. Have
been a volunteer with at least a dozen of them.
Currently I am with the Cowtown MUG of Fort Worth, TX as Treasurer
and DOM developer. Also have been involved with the User Group
Network since it was around as a User Group forum on AOL. Fred
Showker and I have produced material for groups for 15+ years each.
(Sandy was on AOL with us). Currently I am producing a weekly
newsletter column that we expect groups to use as filler in their
newsletters.
I am also a member of the Apple Corp of Dallas and a Lifetime Member
of the Tulsa Users of Macintosh Society.
CMUG is definitely looking for ways for a small group to serve its
members and resume growth.
