Taking this idea further --and many of you know a lot more about the
tech stuff that could make this work-- could a user group actually
view a presentation made in another user group, via the 'Net? Some
form of teleconferencing, of course. The possibilities seem intriguing.
In addition to the Michigan Apple User Group, I am also a longtime time member of MacGroup Detroit and Terry White video types his meetings and presents them for all to view on the groups website. Not quite the same as an actual presentation sharing, but a good way to see how another User Group does it’s thing.
The most recent meeting was with Photoshop Guru Scott Kelby and it is here:

As far as the original idea, I have been slow to adapt to the whole Podcast thing but I have dabble in finding a few that I like/need and viewing them. What would be could is an official User Group Podcast of popular topics for some groups that are light on content (think Breen’s Bungalo or the old Tech TV). It could even be User Group centric done in TV show format and could be sponsored by User Group friendly vendors to help offset the cost.
Even if it wasn’t show at meetings it would be good filler for monthly member CD’s/DVD’s.
Just my .02¢

PS. OMG, I think I am getting excited about my User Group again, this Role Call thing actually caused a spark, hopefully it will grow into a fire!
