Hi Robert
Our club has what I like to call a "functional site." All the info we want is there, but its nowhere near as cool and flashy as others I have seen. Click here to check it out "PBMUG" It does the job, however.
One thing advertisers do is try to make you feel something ... anything ... to motivate you. If they can instill a sense of "lack" or "less than," they can replace these negative feelings with positive ones of "fulfilled" or "the best." This would motivate you to buy their new and improved website.
This is bunk.
Your site is fine, just not flashy. It looks like a good, homemade website.
That said, have you checked out iWeb as one resource for rejuvenating your website? Click Here: Check out "Apple - iLife - iWeb"
You could even make the club website a contest for your User Group. Have some members try their hand at designing pages. Or you could start a Website SIG (Special Interest Group). Ask for volunteers that have iLife and meet at your house to play with the current content using iWeb. Show off your work at a meeting ... ask for member input. Who knows what could come of this, eh? Some learning, some fun, camaraderie with kindred spirits, and a new website.
