Stuff like this is coming on the market now, $230, cheap rubbish, but
runs Win XP and office (extra purchase required)

It's the Extra Purchase Required that is the catch, I'm not convinced
you'll need to do much justification for the Apple stuff once the PCs
are costed up fully.
