Way back when we rode our dinosaurs to the office, and our car's power was measured by how fast we moved our feet, Microsoft gave us Mac users MSWorks ver 1.0. It had one feature I loved. You could create shaped text - words that followed a line you drew.
First you'd type the text, select it and COPY it. Then, if you used the LINE tool (or others to create a shaped line), you could select it, change the color to white (clear, rather, so it wouldn't print), then PASTE it on the invisible line, it would have the text follow the shape of the line. Snakey, squiggly, circles, squares, whatever ... your text wrapped around that shape to create interesting banners.
Later, TwistText and TypeStyler did this a little different, but the result was the same ... colored and shaped text for easy insertion into any document.
If you remember this feature, and know how I could do it today with Mac OS X, I'd love to know how? Freeware beats Shareware which beats Commercial, eh?
