The iPhone continues to lead the pack as a primary Mac User Group topic
this week, but there are other important presenters on the agenda, and
not all of them have to do with Apple's latest product.
Jennifer and Gordon Bell of Prosoft Engineering will show off their
products to a California group and after multiple schedule conflicts,
Garry Barak aka "MacMan" will finally get to talk to a group in Australia.
While the iPhone as dominant topic isn't notable, some of the presenters
are. Groups in Tennessee and Pennsylvania will see it courtesy of Apple
Store Reps, an Arizona group will have the presentation from an Apple
Rep at the local CompUSA, and a Georgia group will host the manager from
a local AT&T Store for a look at not only the device but also the, "...
hysteria surrounding it's release." (more)
2 - Internet Radio Dies on July 15 Unless We Act Now
<http://www.mugcenter.com/internet-radio-dies-on-july-15-unless-we-act-now/>
The Court of Appeals has denied a stay that would have blocked the new
internet radio royalty structure. That means that, on Monday, July 15,
internet radio will be silenced unless something changes immediately.
That also means that everyone in the United States needs to act NOW! You
can find out how to reach them, as well as obtain the critical talking
points regarding this crisis at SaveNetRadio.org. A few minutes of your
time to call, email or fax could help make the difference. (more)
3 - Take Your Group to 2.0: Contact! Contact!
<http://www.mugcenter.com/take-your-group-to-20-contact-contact/>
This week's tip is simple. It involves little effort, is so basic that
it is almost embarrassing to mention, and yet is missed by an amazing
number of groups: Make your group easy to contact. (more)
