This week's MUG Event Calendar has a wide variety topics and presenters
for Mac enthusiasts, no matter where they live.
Apple Senior Systems Engineer Dave Marra will present to a group in New
York, while a Lead Apple Genius will visit a group in California. Also
in the Golden State, Jennifer and Gordon Bell of Prosoft Engineering
will show off their stable of essential utilities, and Sling Media will
also make a California MUG visit.
The Adobe Creative Suite components continues to be a popular meeting
topic, with presentations in Illinois and Rhode Island.
2 - Take Your Group to 2.0: Calculating Membership Dues
<http://www.mugcenter.com/take-your-group-to-20-funding-your-group-with-
membership-dues/>
The most common way that Mac User Groups fund their existence is by
charging dues. What is surprising is that so few MUG leaders have really
thought about what they charge for a membership and why. A 2.0 User
Group will not only have completed that analysis but will also regularly
monitor the calculation to be sure they aren't falling behind due to
price increases or changes in structure. (more)
