A flood of presentations of the new version of Mac OS X, Leopard, starts
this week, along with several other notable presenters, on The MUG Event
Calendar.
Bob "Dr. Mac" LeVitus makes his annual trip to Chicago for a MUG
presentation and pizza party this week, while James Lee of Tropical
Software will present to a group in Florida and game manufacturer Aspyr
will demonstrate their latest in Texas. Apple representatives are also
in abundance this week, with Apple Senior Systems Engineer Aaron Davis
showing off Leopard in Virginia and Washington DC, and Nick Brazzi from
the Apple Store doing the same in California.
Leopard is also on the agenda in New Zealand, Australia, New Mexico,
South Carolina, the United Kingdom, California, Illinois, and probably
anywhere MUG meetings are occurring this week, whether on the schedule
or not. Some other interesting topics for this week include the various
components of iWork '08 and iLife '08, Google, Databases, Lego Mindstorm
NXT and digital photography. (more)

4 - Two Mac User Groups Partner to Produce MacCamp in Michigan
<http://www.mugcenter.com/two-mac-user-groups-partner-to-produce-maccamp-
in-michigan/>
On November 12, two Michigan Mac User Groups will hold another iteration
of their annual event, MacCamp.
The Saginaw Macintosh Users Group and Mac-In-Awe Macintosh Users Group
recognize that two groups are better than one when creating extra-
special events, hence the partnership to produce MacCamp. (more)
5 - AppleWorks Users Group Reports on Leopard Tests With Apple's Legacy
Office Suite
<http://www.mugcenter.com/appleworks-users-group-reports-on-leopard-
tests-with-apples-legacy-office-suite/>
While everyone wants to upgrade to Leopard, there are still some older
programs that are hard to leave behind. AppleWorks leads the list of
such programs, with one of the largest installed bases of any legacy program.
If you're concerned about how AppleWorks will perform under Leopard, you
need to check out the results of extensive testing by the AppleWorks
Users Group (AWUG). While there will be a more detailed examination of
the situation in the December issue of their publication, The AppleWorks
Journal, you can benefit from their research right now. (more)
6 - Adobe Announces User Group Breakfast at Macworld Conference & Expo
<http://www.mugcenter.com/adobe-announces-user-group-breakfast-at-
macworld-conference-expo/>
Adobe will once again host a Professional Association & User Group
