he MUG Event Calendar kicks back into high gear this week with important

TopXNotes?"
tropical-softwares-topxnotes/>
At the Apple Store, that's where. To celebrate the arrival of special
version of Tropical Software's TopXNotes in Apple Stores, Tropical's
James Lee is running a contest for Mac User Group members. If you are
the one of the first five people to send Jim a photo of you, in any U.S.

of TopXNotes ... (more)
5 - Major Changes Mark The Evolution of the AppleWorks and iWork Users Groups
<http://www.mugcenter.com/major-changes-mark-the-evolution-of-the-
appleworks-and-iwork-users-groups/>
One of the most influential organizations in the Mac User Group
community has announced some major changes in their structure and offerings.
As reported on both the AppleWorks Users Group (AWUG) and on the
successor organization iWork Users Group (iWUG) web sites, the groups
will be closing their offices on January 31, 2008, and ceasing
publication of their trademark publication, The AppleWorks Journal with
the January 2008 issue. (more)

7 - MacGroup-Detroit Sets Attendance and Membership Records
<http://www.mugcenter.com/macgroup-detroit-sets-attendance-and-
membership-records/>
MacGroup-Detroit has good reason to celebrate this week, and it has
nothing to do with the holiday.
Their November meeting brought in a record number of attendees to see
Apple Senior Systems Engineer Dave Marra show off Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
With the many notable speakers that MacGroup schedules each year, that
is no small accomplishment.
The good news doesn't end there, however. On the same night, Mary Resnik
joined MacGroup, becoming their 500th member. Not even knowing about the
possibilities when she signed up, Mary will receive a custom engraved
commemorative iPod touch and a 500GB external hard drive. (more)
