For those of you who will make it to Macworld Expo...
Today came up fast for me. I'd worked out a hotel deal for my all-time
favorite SF hotel and was just reminded that the booking deadline is
midnight. Since it caught me by surprise I realized that I forgot that
special pricing has time limits - and thus, want to remind you all
that prices may be changing now.
And in case you're interested, my arrangement is a better than normal
price at a well-priced hotel — formerly called the Monticello, now
fully remodeled (even some walls) and now called the Hotel Abri. All
but the suites are $133 per night and can have up to four per room.
It's a non-smoking hotel. And mattering to me, is not a pet hotel.
It's just .4 miles from Moscone, on Ellis. I paid $119 for this hotel
before remodel in like 1994, so $133 is not bad in perspective. If

Another hotel thing to know:
As of Jan 1, 2009, there is an extra hotel 1.5% "assessment" in SF by
Moscone. That's $3 on $200. It's to renovate Moscone and extend SF's
marketing to the world.
