Title: Re: Classic software and more
RE: Walt's question on Classic software
This question may sound silly, but it actually affects some
things
I've been doing with Mac computers for 15 years.
:::SNIP:::
I have a few comments if you don't mind.
First HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Second, I think posting complaints everytime someone posts a
sporadic tech question is a further waste of bandwidth. If a user
group leader posts a question here, it probably means they've
exhuasted other options or it's important to them for running their
group. Shall we have a bit of patience and camaraderie in here?
If you only reply off-list than hundreds of folks don't get to
see your answer; which defeats the purpose of the list. Maybe the
person who gets the advice offlist could post a summary of the
responses?
It seems to me that mailing label software and doing mass emails
IS pertinent to running user groups,.
Third, Walt, I also still use a piece of Synex software because
it's the ONLY one that prints an adress book that is very small in
size! Perfect for emergencies at Macworld, by the way. (Ever think
what would happen if you lost your phone and couldn't access your
machine? I always carry a hard-copy phone book.)
You should be able to export MacEnvenlope data to tab or
space-delimited text and put it into FileMaker, Excel or open with any
text editor. Then you can import it into any other software you
need.
Fourth, Avery makes free software that's perfect for printing out
almost anything. Rick Curran reviewed it for MacNN here:

Fifth: HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May these days go better than 2008 for many of us.
