Even with the romantic holiday interrupting the action, the coming week
on The MUG Event Calendar is filled with special guests, vendor
presentations and more around the globe.
Bob "Dr. Mac" LeVitus will deliver his trademark "State of the Mac"
address to a Texas group, Apple Senior Systems Engineer Aaron Davis will
talk about Apple's Macworld Expo announcements at a Maryland MUG, and
Michael Simmons of Ambrosia Software will demonstrate their products to
an Oregan group. Terrence Talbot of Karelia Software will visit a
California group, Andrew Taylor of MacSpeech will demonstrate Dictate to
a group in Massachusetts and Melvin Prasad of Sling Media will show off
the Sling Box to another California group. (more)

The February meeting of the Washington Apple Pi will be one of the best
of the year, featuring a special visit by Walt Mossberg, the technology
columnist for The Wall Street Journal. (more)
3 - Joe Kissell Scheduled to Present to Two Mac User Groups

Take Control author Joe Kissell will be making two Mac User Group
appearances in the coming months that span North America. What makes it
even more interesting is that Joe will present to those two groups from
his home in Paris.
4 - Third User Groups 2.0 Conference Scheduled for February 19

The MUG Center will conduct the third in a series of virtual gatherings
to help Mac User Group leaders and interested parties interact, operate,
improve and move their groups into the future.
The third User Group 2.0 Virtual Conference will be held on Tuesday,
February 19 from 6 PM until 7:30 PM PT (9 PM - 10:30 PM ET). While there
is no charge for attendance, a limited number of participants will be
involved due to the nature of efficient virtual communications. (more)
