The Apple User Group Regional Liaison for New York is Maria Arguello; for Pennsylvania is Macbeth Vannoy. I am sure that either will be happy to help answer your questions.
An Apple User Group Ambassador is a role assigned to one individual from each recognized Apple User Group in the User Group database (locator). Leaders from each user group choose a member from their group who will serve in this role. The Ambassador for the group serves as the link and primary contact to the Apple User Group program.
There can be more to being the Ambassador than a name in the club newsletter or a photo on a group's website. Why not check out the Apple Ambassador Guide (.PDF) to see how all Ambassadors can enhance their effectiveness as a leader and help their club to thrive.
To answer your question, the Apple Sales Web (ASW) is not part of the User Group program. It is a way for Apple, Inc. to keep in contact with many various levels of Apple Channel Partners like resellers, technicians, Apple employees and all of us User Group leaders.
Your position as Apple Ambassador allows you to apply for membership in ASW. They review the application and compare it to information in the User Group database (locator) and issue membership with a separate login user name and password.
Once logged in you will see what resources are available to you and your group including a link to sign in to the online training that will allow you to earn a .Mac account for your group. And it will allow you to continue this account by continuing your Mac-education.
