I think what caused my distrust in first place was Griffin
Support's first line,
"We handle international returns a little differently."
Why?
Because the laws, taxes, and costs of doing business are different.
Also, how is this a thread related to Apple User Groups?

It's a Mac related consumer problem, so part of user groups mandate.
So, ignoring costs of shipping, do they ask US consumers to destroy
items before they'll send replacement?

Can you imagine Apple doing that? Saying destroy your faulty Mac
before we send you a replacement. Sorry, this is ridiculous and first
time I've come across this for any product I've ever bought, in UK,
US, or anywhere.
