For myself, I have a couple of LaCie drives. I use them for back up, and thanks to SuperDuper, Firewire allows me to make them bootable. I can't do this with USB.
I guess I'll have to shop around for an old white MacBook as my Xmas present to myself.
Its election season... I like the idea of choice. I choose FW over USB.
On Intel machines, USB is bootable.
I use a 8 GB USB key to hold a bootable system. It's much neater (and much cheaper) than a FireWire drive.
There are things I love FireWire for - but this is something I can cope with. |
