We addressed this a while back, creating a "Need a Consultant" page accessible by a link on our home page that lists members who consult, troubleshoot, train, etc. for a fee. We direct members to this listing when their issues/questions get too complex for a couple of phone calls or a forum post reply or two.
One of those listed had a client who wanted him to recover a corrupted MS Office install her daughter had done, "as a favor" (not leaving the install discs or auth'n code) and was furious that he wouldn't obtain a pirate code so she could use Office again. To his credit he refused to comply, even though she made several vicious written complaints to our board.
We
raise this integrity/ethics issue from time to time at our board and general meetings and are firmly committed to not condoning gratis installs of copyrighted or code-protected software by our members, officers, or volunteers.
