We use membership dues to pay for facilities, insurance, Internet, projector, screen, sound system, etc.

What do you use the membership money for anyways? Does Apple require it?
Our group doesn't charge a fee and it seems kinda silly to charge people a few to join the group and then ask others for donations. Just my opinion as a someone new to the scene.
