One MUG member has a G4 20 inch flat panel iMac G4 with 512 megs of RAM. She wants to upgrade to Leopard and is holding off until she upgrades her RAM.
I know that the DIMM socket is not user accessible. The SODIMM socket is accessible from the bottom of the system. Both have 256 megs in them. Will it hurt the iMac if I remove the SODIMM 256 and replace it with the "1.0GB (1024MB) Techworks PC2700 DDR 333MHz 200 Pin SO-DIMM"?
See http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/apple/memory/iMac/G4_1.0GHz_1.25GHzI know that the iMac only supports up to one gig. Will the extra RAM just go unused, or will it hurt the computer?
