thanks for the info. My verdict -- rubbish. This is a deal-breaker for me. I use LaTeX with the beamer package to produce presentations as pdfs. pdfs are hardly an exotic creature for Apple and to not make this work means that my reasons for getting one are much less convincing (I'll still need a laptop.) I'm not buying Keynote so I can import pdfs into it (or using video, when I've typeset the original).
pointing a camera at an iPhone is a work-around but...but...this isn't why we buy macs and apple gear!:-)
