Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a copy of your newsletter. Maybe
we could steal some ideas. ;-)
At Cowtown MUG in the early 90's and at TUMS (Tulsa Users of Macintosh
Society), I had pr lists. I had Computer Currents, another free
monthly computer mag and the local daily newspapers. But not much
else. Now I am starting to create a new list with the Star-Telegram.
They had changed to procedure and required us to join an only blog,
that I never did figure out. They now are taking direct e-mails
again. The computer mags are all gone now. So I am looking for other
ideas of where to send them.
As to small meeting rooms as mentioned by someone else, I will never
understand a group that is so unwilling to move to accommodate more
people. Cowtown used to meet at classroom of the Texas College of
Medicine, but we shrank so much that we needed a cheaper place. We
now are meeting in the family room of a local Episcopalian church
(Our Pres is a member.) At TUMS we ran some classes in a Catholic
school room. It is always possible to change venues if it is needed.
More members can mean a larger budget.
Have a great day!
Oh, all you others, where do you send announcements besides the local
paper?

No, MacinTech in Denver doesn't have a PR list. Our meeting space is
so small that we cannot fit any more people than actually show up!
I do email our newsletter to the bank that lets us use their
community room and to Adam Engst & Washington Apple Pi. Oh, and any
guests who might show up.
Our newsletter does include a teaser about the next 3 meetings and
lots of web links. If Sandy Foderick, Lynn Wegley or Fred Showaker
want copies, I'd gladly send it to them, but that seems like an
imposition. What do they say???
That's it.

Nicholas,
Am I to assume from the flurry of responses that NO ONE (Apple User
Groups) does a PR mailing list, whatever that is.
