I think you are working to hard. Get a copy of Avery Labels design software (it is free) and design a set of business cards. You can add a logo (one color would be best) and put what ever text and lines for what ever you need to write in. If you need lots of these tickets print out one group of 10 and take it to a print shop that does offset printing. Have them put the tickets on what ever card stock they may have open and what ever ink the press is running. Let them dry over night and have them cut them. The difference in printing 1000 and 4000 is just ink and paper cost. Go for the gusto, get as many as you expect to use in a year. There is no need to get fancy. No stamped number required. You only need one side. Talk to the people at the print shop. It is not unusual that they run business card on special, one day a week or two. They will look nice and be very functional. You should be able to get 1000 for less than $10 and 3000 for less than $20. You are giving the printer lots of options (card stock, color ink, time to stick it on the schedule. That should get your group kudos from the printer. If you have security concerns, put a stamp on the back. All you need is a pencil with a rubber eraser. With a raiser blade, cut a small piece out of the top so you can identify it as yours and smash it into an ink pad with your choice of color ink and imprint the back.
If you add the print shop's address or URL on each card, they may give you an additional discount. Talk to them first.

Does anyone have any suggestions on software that can be used to
excite up Raffle Draws at User Group Meetings?
Personally, I currently print out little paper slips (usually DL in
size - 1/3 an A4 page) that I place on seats before the meeting.
The slips have space for the entrants Name, Suburb and Email Address.
There is a 'pre-ticked' box stating that winners agree to have their
Initial, Surname and Suburb published on our website (and/or in our
magazine) and if relevant their email address may be passed onto our
sponsors (in order for them to supply some prizes direct to the
winner). There is often a box to tick to OPT-OUT of 'marketing' emails
from us.
Then just before our 'Coffee Break' I remind people to fill in the
forms during the break and place them in a box. Then at the end of
the presentation, bring the box forward and manually draw slips out...
On the back of the slips, I get an assistant to write the prize that
was won.
This works... but is so 19th Century :)
Sometimes I duck in the 20th Century and have a Keynote slide that
builds to show the 'current prize' we are about draw out.
Surely in the 21st Century there must be decent software packages out
there that can make this all happen???
I'd love to see an iPad app that could conduct draws... Even a simple
app that has a cute animation during a random number (we'd still have
paper numbers to hand out) have it outputting the number to the
projector. Have it gather the results that can be emailed to a
Committee member.
More advanced features could include;
- the ability to include an image and short description of the current
prize (obviously would need to be pre-entered).
- the ability to enter the winners name as drawn (even better still
have someone with another iPad or iPhone been able to enter these
details in "remotely") and a summary of the winners is displayed at
the end of the draw.
- If we have 'remote' connections, then the ability for ticket buyers
to enter their details in via their own iPhone or iPad would be a cute
idea (with the ticket seller approving the purchase on the "main iPad"
after the money is paid of course :) )
Anyone interested in writing such an App, or know if one already exists?
