Bruce Ellis, age 65, of Austell, GA died on October 8, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 30 years,
Joan Ellis; daughters and sons-in-law, Lorelei and Jeff Guynn, Oldsmar, FL and
Wendy and Joseph Holbrook, Genesee, PA; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and
Michelle Phillips, Rollinsford, NH; sisters, Wendy Rickman, Garland, TX and
Cindy and JD Stichcombe, Fayetteville, GA; brothers, Chris and Bonnie Ellis,
Power Springs, GA; Robert Rickman, St. Cloud, FL; seven grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
Bruce was
born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.
He served in the submarine service of the U.S. Navy for four years.
Bruce was a talented entrepreneur in several different fields. He was an innovative financier as a
Mortgage Broker, and turned his labor of love for the Apple computer into a
business, which he owned and operated as the Comptek Group in West Palm Beach,
FL.
The passing of Steve Jobs in the same week as Bruce is ironic, as Job's
success of the Apple retail Stores was at the expense of small dealers, which
led to the closing of the company, and he retired to Austell, GA where he
established a trucking business with his wife and partner, Joan.
He was very active in the Palm Beach
Macintosh User Group and an avid diver and boater.
In lieu of flowers donations
can to sent to the United States Submarine Veterans, P.O.Box 3870, Silverdale,
WA 98383-3870. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday October 11 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton,
GA.
