15 Nearly 50% Apps're venue goes to foreign developers
I don't do this often, because it takes hours to complete. However,
now for the third time, I took the time to parse more than 400 apps
submitted for're view to find out WHERE they came from. We found just
under 50% to be in the U.S. We also found a dozen or so "claim" a U.S.
location -- but IP addresses are in foreign countries. - Most
disturbing, however, while checking, several "familiar" IP blocks came
up. When compared with out Safenetting database, we find a number of the
foreign apps are from web owners who also happen to be connected with
cybercrime in one way or another.
If a widespread botnet-driven badware attack and a new iPad app both
eminate from the same IP address say, in Pakistan, what are we to think?
We have to ask, who are we funding? One of them had sold over 2-million
copies.

16 Quotes: Cocks, Jefferson
A committee is a cul-de-sac down which ideas
are lured and then quietly strangled.
Sir Barnett Cocks
In matters of style, swim with the current;
in matters of principle, stand like a rock.
