01 ICANN's threat to internet citizens
On December 16, 2011, the FTC filed this release, and a
letter to ICANN regarding their 'Rapid Expansion of Internet
Domain Name System.' As this program prepares to launch
today, (January 12, 2012) it appears that ICANN is, once
again, ignoring common sense and a sincere disregard for
doing the right thing.

02 Fully Automated Time Tracking
EUROCOMP has released Timing 1.1.5, an update to its
unique new time tracking application for OS X. In contrast
to classic time tracking applications, Timing doesn't
require users to manually operate timers. Instead, users'
activities like editing documents, surfing the web, and
playing games are tracked automatically and can be easily
reviewed at a later time.

03 Engineering Apps for iPad
MEA Mobile has launched a suite of engineering
simulators designed for the iPad. Perfect for both
electrical engineers and engineering students alike, the Ray
Tools series were designed with a retro look and feel
harkening back to the 1970 s with vintage plastic keys, worn
leather and glowing green numeric displays. In addition, the
apps feature practical examples, term glossaries and data
export functions.

04 skEdit Text/HTML Editor
skEdit (formerly skHTML) is a text editor with a focus
on web development. It includes features to assist in the
editing of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, Python, ASP,
Ruby/Rails, SQL, ActionScript and ColdFusion.

05 Calendar doesn't need times
This innovative new calendar app for iPhone and iPod
touch devices is a first for the app store. It enables users
to add events with flexible times such as 'after work',
'starts 9pm' and any other text.

----------------------------------------------------
06 The Hess Events List for Expo
For several years now, Ilene Hoffman has hosted the Hess
Memorial List for events that are held during MacWorld Expo.
This year is no exception, even if the show is now called
MacWorld|iWorld Expo.

13 Macheads
Joe Showker sent this one in saying
"People who have iPhones and iPads simply don't understand
what drove the innovation -- In a Matrix'esque introduction:
'Those of you who were supposed to see this will know who
you are, the rest will not understand.' "

----------------------------------------------------
14 Quotes: Franklin, Aristotle and Disney
"The Constitution only gives people
the right to pursue happiness.
You have to catch it yourself..."
- Benjamin Franklin
"We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit."
- Aristotle
"All our dreams can come true,
if we have the courage to pursue them."
- Walt Disney
