02 The sky is falling. The end is near!
It's been a crazy week in cyber space ... we saw the big
protest against SOPA and PIPA and the angry internet mob
post, tweet and repost Google's protest and that of many
other sites. The sky is falling. The world is coming to an
end. The guys who want to protect U.S. ingenuity and
creativity from being ripped off by counterfeiters ... or
the press and the mob of web sites who stand to make the
most money from online pirating? It's a tough decision.
I had a different take. Having battled cybercrime break-ins
and spoofing for nearly ten years, I tried my best to
counter the mob. No use. I uploaded example after example of
cyber crime attacks to our Facebook page, and met only angry
mob retorts. I showed clearly how sites protesting the new
legislation are affiliated, or even openly involved in
cybercrime! Still nobody listens. Are you for or against
SOPA and PIPA? Like today's million reports of THIS
counterfeit eBay cybercrime attack.
