Subject: Midnight Oil Macintosh Association
Dear Gary Kampel:
I was given your name by O'Kane Conwell, Treasurer of the Midnight Oil Macintosh Association. Frank Milo, the President, died unexpectedly last December. The January meeting was canceled. At the February 7 meeting, I was elected President. O'Kane remains as our Treasurer.
We are trying to reorganize MOMA into a more standard user group, and seek your help. I think we have control of the accumulated (but limited) funds. Approximately 20 people attended the February meeting. There are about 50 people on the email list. We think a reorganized and more active user group could attract many new members from Embry Riddle (where we meet), Bethune Cookman College, Daytona State College, and Stetson University in DeLand (where I live), not to mention members of the county's large
senior population.
We have a program lined up for our March meeting. We are seeking, but have not yet obtained, access to the MOMA website. We would like some suggestions for a program the April meeting. At our Feb 7 meeting, the group decided it would like to keep the meetings at one hour each, with the first half hour available for newbie or support type questions, and the second half hour spent listening to an informative program. That format, however, is not cast in stone. It seems too short, to me.
Any other comments and suggestions (and perhaps a visit, if you are "in our area" as the email suggested), would be very welcome. My contact information follows my name below.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Dan
