Another solution you might think about for email is https://app.spamdrain.net/en/ If you are like me and get hundreds of mails every day, AND have said mail going to your computer, AND iPad/iPod or phone you want this service. Having to delete messages on more then one device got old really quick, although this is a paid service yearly they do offer a free trial which before the end you'll see the full value of having.
They charge by account, not devices so that's a plus. Since only one of several accounts is my 'problem' account I use it for just at addresss. It does find viruses and it does let you go through the mail it sees as junk, harmful before it's perm deleted it's an all around sound solution for most users. I never would have tried it if my husband had not done the trial and "had" to have it. It cost the same for two separate accounts which let us go through mail on our own separately.
Only tossing this into the ring as an alternative, I like it a lot and you control everything in one spot. Takes time to train but I didn't have to rescue to many newsletters or regular email from it. You get a full report on what it's done for the day and shows email it want's to know for sure is bad or good.

The service is free, it only needs to be set up by the subscriber. I find it to be very good. Is is available for Mac and peecees.

You'd think, after 30 years, they'd believe that Macintosh isn't going
away.
