variables in leopard automator

  • Subject: variables in leopard automator

Hi!
I just started learning what automator can do, and what i'd like to accomplish is:
1. Get Feeds from Safari
2. Filter Articles to unread
3. Get Text from Articles
4. Text to Audio File
5. Import Files into iTunes
6. Add Songs to iPod (shuffle 2nd generation)
7. Move Finder Items to Trash

New version of automator (2.0) introduces variables(at least for me), but I'm lost on how to use them and I obviously need them to store
file names on step 4 and later use it on step 7.
Steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 work as expected, but 6 doesn't. The description of "Add Songs to iPod" action says: "manually manage music and videos must be selected in the iPod settings", though there's no such option in shuffle. The error I get on step 6 is:
Add Song to iPod failed
iTunes got an error: File permission error. (421094864)

I see that results of step 4 are files, as expected, but how to store their paths for later use?

Could someone explain me how to use variables and resolve problems with step 6, please.

Cheers
Alex

P.S joke
I haven't appreciated correct punctuation until started listening to RSS feeds using Alex and Automator.
:D
