David - does the share get disconnected or possibly mounted exclusively
after you connect to it?
SMB is very quirky...
From a terminal, can you cd to /Volumes/<share> and read it's contents?

I'm trying to setup a simple Automator script to backup my Entourage
database to a shared SMB folder on my LAN
There are six steps in my workflow:
1. close Entourage
2. close Microsoft Database Daemon
3. Get Specified Servers (i.e., same as "Connect to Server..." in
Finder using smb://) <smb://)>
4. Connect to Servers
5. Get Specified Finder Items (i.e. my local Entourage database)
6. Copy Finder Items
The first five steps work just fine
The last step always fails with a "Can't read directory contents
/Volumes/<share>" error message
For the last step in this workflow I've tried specifying the
destination of the Copy action in all the possible combinations i.e.,
via Sidebar name, shared name, directly as the /Volumes/<shared> name,
etc. and all fail the same way
Note that I CAN INDEED connect to this shared folder just fine
manually in Finder and the credentials are saved in my KeyChain
Anyone have any ideas why the last step keeps failing?

6. 2009-02-12 19:51:33 -0500: Copy Finder Items failed
Can't read directory contents: /Volumes/<share>
