Take a look at a program I publish called Script Timer. It will do
exactly what you want. Go to the site in my signature
(http://www.appsandmore.com) for more information.
As "hd" pointed out, you can get Mail to check for new messages
periodically, but you want to do something when you get the message.

I have it set to check for the email then OPEN and plays Itunes play
itunes song
my problem is I need the automator to run the mail check everything
3 min or so
Can anybody here help me
