User interface to run scripts

I am totally new to automator am not sure if it can do what I want. I want to create an interface for users who are not Mac savvy, to operate an audio recording program, edit tags for the MP3 files created, copy the files to a web site, etc. I'm sure automator scripts can do these operations, but my question is, can I create a series of buttons to kick off the different scripts? What are my options for making a simple visual interface for inexperienced users to pick and run any of a group of scripts? Do I need to learn AppleScript in order to accomplish this?
